Greetings, tech enthusiasts and social media aficionados! Welcome to another riveting edition of Stemble Weekly, your go-to source for the most intriguing updates from the world of STEM and beyond. In this edition, we dive deep into the shocking plummet of Instagram Threads' usage on Android and the meteoric rise of X, all while Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg's cage fight drama unfolds. 🥊

Threads Take a Tumble: 📉

Instagram's Threads app, once hailed as the heir apparent to the microblogging realm, is facing a startling decline. According to recent data, the Threads Android app has suffered a staggering 79% decrease in its daily active users within just one month. The numbers don't lie: from a peak of 49.3 million daily active users on July 7, Threads tumbled to a mere 10.3 million on August 7. What happened to this promising contender in the social media arena?

X's Triumph Continues: 📈

Amidst Threads' freefall, the Elon Musk-owned X (formerly known as Twitter) is soaring to new heights. Boasting over 100 million daily active users on Android alone, X's users consistently spend about 25 minutes per day on the platform. This contrast between Threads' downfall and X's triumph raises the question: Is X's reign as the king of microblogging uncontested?

A Tale of Two Timelines: ⏳

The story gets even more intriguing when we delve into the timeline. Threads experienced a rapid surge in its early days, with users flocking to explore its new text-based social interactions. Yet, this enthusiasm proved short-lived, as Similarweb notes that the initial buzz quickly faded. In contrast, X's dominance has only intensified, capturing the attention and engagement of its ever-growing user base.

Threads' Missing Magic: 🧙‍♂️

What's the secret ingredient that keeps X's users coming back for more? Engaging content and thought-provoking discussions! Threads seems to be missing the mark when it comes to capturing users' attention with compelling content. Unlike X, which draws users into lively debates and discussions, Threads has yet to find its unique selling point that keeps users glued to the screen.

Looking Ahead: 🔮

Is Threads doomed to be a flash in the pan, or does it still have a chance to become the "new Twitter" it aspired to be? As our report suggests, the road to social media stardom might still be open for Threads, but only if it can offer users a compelling reason to keep coming back. The challenge is clear: Threads must rise to the occasion, enhancing user engagement and delivering the kind of captivating content that drives X's success.

And that's a wrap for this edition of Stemble Weekly! Stay tuned for more captivating stories from the ever-evolving world of STEM and technology. Until next time, keep innovating and exploring!

I find another missing in Threads. A web app for God's sake! If you give me a web app, I'm gonna be using it all day long. And yes, user interaction still's a pretty big challenge.
